A Sankey diagram draws each category as a stream whose thickness is proportional to the dollars flowing through it. Everything coming in merges into one pool, then splits into everything going out; if less goes out than comes in, the remainder flows out as left over — if more goes out, a shortfall stream appears on the in side to balance the books. Amounts convert automatically when you toggle monthly ↔ annual. Start fresh clears the personal-budget categories and relabels the columns to a plain in/out, so the same diagram works for anything money flows through. Nothing you type is uploaded anywhere: the numbers live only in this page (and your browser's local storage, so they're still here tomorrow). The "copy link" button encodes your numbers in the URL — share it only with people you'd show your budget to.
